Hair Ring Removal

Male chinchillas are susceptible to penile strangulation if they develop hair rings around the shaft. Most of the time the male chin can remove the accumulated hair himself, but sometimes intervention is needed with especially difficult cases. 

If you find your chinchilla is paying an extraordinary amount of time "servicing" himself or notice a prolapsed penis this issue should be addressed before permanent harm is done.
